July 28, 2017 – Dubreuilville – Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario - FedNor
The Government of Canada is investing $15,000 to enable the Township of Dubreuilville to grow its three-day summer festival and national Strongman Challenge, running July 28 to 30, 2017. The event, the largest competition of its kind in Northern Ontario, is celebrating its 16th anniversary and will welcome athletes from across Canada and the United States.
The Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, and Minister responsible for FedNor, today announced this investment, provided through FedNor’s Economic Development Initiative (EDI) for Official Language Minority Communities.
This year's event will feature enhancements including a trade show for local and regional artisans and businesses to showcase traditional French culture, products and services, and a bilingual science exhibit.
"Northern Ontario’s francophone communities, such as Dubreuilville, are important contributors to the region’s economy. By supporting the growth of this important local tourism event, the Government of Canada is helping to foster economic diversification and business development opportunities made possible through linguistic duality."

"This FedNor investment will help our community expand our annual festival and Strongman Challenge, an event that has become a focal point of the summer season in Dubreuilville. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase our community and culture, as well as to promote the businesses of the local region. We are very grateful for the Government of Canada’s support and invite everyone to make their way to Dubreuilville this weekend to experience the festivities first-hand. There is surely fun to be had by all!"
