TheAlgomaNews.ca covers Wawa, the Algoma District and the wider north shore of Lake Superior: local news, regional politics, the outdoors, and the history of the people and places that shaped the area.

For nearly six decades Wawa was served by the Algoma News Review, a community newspaper that printed its final edition in July 2022. This website is run by an independent owner and is not affiliated with the former newspaper or its publishers. Many of our stories revisit subjects the old paper covered, and we write each of them fresh, with current background and sources.
